Held yearly on the last Saturday in April,
2026 marks the 48th anniversary of the Grimsby Wayzgoose Book Arts Fair.
The term “Wayzgoose” has historic roots referring to the traditional annual printers’ gatherings that celebrated the creativity & craftsmanship of the printed products created by local book arts communities.
Dating back to 1979, the Grimsby Public Art Gallery’s Wayzgoose was founded by its first director, Bill Poole. Beginning as a small annual gathering of local private press printers, bookbinders, printmakers, paper makers and other artisans celebrating the art of the hand-made book and receiving around 300 attendees, it has since grown into a highly anticipated annual event which now welcomes 2000+ visitors from across Ontario, Québec & the North-Eastern USA. Grimsby’s Wayzgoose has become internationally recognized within the book arts community as one of the longest-running events of its kind
in Canada.
